What's Covered
The HP HP Laptop warranty covers these issues under normal use conditions:
- Hardware defects in display, keyboard, trackpad
- Motherboard and processor failures
- Battery defects (not normal wear)
- Hinge and chassis defects
- Built-in webcam and speaker failures
What's NOT Covered
The following are typically excluded from warranty coverage:
- Accidental damage (unless Care Pack with ADP)
- Virus or malware damage
- Damage from unauthorized parts or repairs
- Software issues
- Battery wear from normal use
How to Check Your Warranty Status
- Visit support.hp.com/checkwarranty
- Enter your serial number (found on the bottom of the laptop)
- Use HP Support Assistant software on your HP laptop
- Call HP Support with your serial number
How to Claim Your Warranty
- Submit a case at support.hp.com
- Call HP at 1-800-474-6836 (US)
- Use HP Support Assistant for diagnostics
- Visit an HP authorized service center
- Mail-in or carry-in repair depending on your plan
